About Nutritional Therapists

We are what we eat, and for this reason we need to redress the balance between what we want to eat and what our body needs I order to function optimally.

Many people believe we get all we need by eating a ‘balanced diet’. With modern life being busy and stressful, not everyone eats as well as they should and our health also depends on how well we are absorbing and digesting nutrients. A nutritional therapist looks not only at a patient’s deficiencies of vitamins and minerals but also assesses whether there are problems with digestion, toxic overload or the need for additional nutrients.

Nutritional therapy is a safe and gentle approach based on scientific research and knowledge and has been used very successfully to help a number of imbalances such as headaches, poor digestion, weight gain or loss, allergies, skin problems, high cholesterol and female hormones. Many underlying health problems e.g. diabetes, arthritis, cardiovascular problems and stress related disorders can be addressed by consulting a nutritional therapist.

A consultation involves establishing a thorough history of the patient’s symptoms, digestion, liver and kidney function, medical and drug history, and general lifestyle.
